Thank you for your interest in serving at Refresh Summer Camp 2027!
We are thrilled to be hosting our 16th annual camp by the grace of God!
WHO ARE WE?
Refresh Summer Camp is an inter-denominational Christian evangelistic camp reaching out to high school students across Sydney, particularly the less reached & less resourced churches. Focusing on a relational approach, this camp delivers gospel-centred talks and small group discussions, coupled with fun activities that aim to connect, engage and inspire teenagers.
MENTOR ROLE
As a mentor, you will play a crucial role in building the bridge between youth and the gospel through your day-to-day interaction with them, through structured and unstructured conversations, team building activities and daily gospel presentations.
All mentors will be a small group co-mentor who facilitates discussion around the gospel talks, and be in a games team interspersed amongst the youth.
If you have capacity to serve pre-camp, there are additional optional serving roles in the following: Praise team, Activities team, Promotion team and Admin team.

- You believe that you are to live in light of this free gift of grace by the renewing of your mind and heart that shapes your words, thoughts, actions and life everyday. You seek to love God and glorify him with your life
- You are willing to have an attitude that is faithful, available and teachable during your season of serving at Refresh, striving to live above reproach as role models for youth. Be willing to share in genuine Christian fellowship with fellow mentors and leaders by seeking to serve and love one another, rather than to be served
- You attend and faithfully serve at a Bible believing church

- You can provide a phone number/email of your church pastor/mentor from whom we can get a cross reference
- You have a clean criminal record, and no history of violence or misconduct

- You understand that there are youth follow up strategies (discussed at training workshops) that you are expected to use at least until the Reunion on Saturday 10th April 2027.
- You understand the cost of serving at camp for all mentors is $440 regardless of whether you have a sibling attending, though your sibling youth can get the sibling rate.
- You must provide a valid NSW Working With Children’s Check Number for verification
- IMPORTANT – By registering as a mentor, I acknowledge that I have prayerfully and responsibly considered the commitment involved in serving at this camp. I understand the expectations of this role and will make every reasonable effort to fulfil my responsibilities faithfully and communicate promptly if unforeseen circumstances arise. I commit to serving with integrity, maturity, and care for the young people entrusted to us.
