Unlike the past 9 camps held so far, this year’s camp was uniquely a mentors-only camp. There were no high school students due to the growing risks and restrictions that Covid-19 posed on our ministry program as well as the hosting facilities. So to minimise risks the leadership team decided to maximise the situation and host a mentors training camp in its place. Despite the many trying circumstances out of our control, we knew God was in control and was good. We partnered with KCC Nextgen to provide paradigm shifting training in character, convictions and competence under God’s Word. Over 5 full days, mentors were involved in talks, seminars, training workshops that equipped them with tools to read the bible for themselves and write a bible study from scratch. For many it was their first time being taught explicitly how to read the bible, and how to create content to teach youth. It was a very challenging and rewarding experience for all involved. We thank KCC Nextgen for their partnership in the teaching materials, and for all the mentors in the leadership team who stepped up to become mentors of mentors at such short notice, and for all the mentors to humbly submit to being taught under our leadership in Christ.
